History
The history of this area is truly fascinating. It commenced with the two homesteads built by the Allen Family over 120 years ago, resulting in two very large properties adjacent to each other. They are now owned by the Tasmanian Land Council (TLC) and aboriginal Land Council (ALC) of Tasmania, in a unique sharing arrangment.
A retired American judge, Martin Polin purchased the Circular Marsh property in the 1970s as his hedge against armageddon and built a substantial underground bunker at the site. Much of it remains there to this day.
